VOLUNTEER WITH SHRINE

Looking for a great way to make new friends and help out the community?  Have you ever wanted to go to check out Shrine on a discount? You should volunteer! We have positions available every month. Please click below if you wish to volunteer or have questions!

DESK & ONLINE SUPPORT

Support persons will welcome guests, hand out wristbands, and assist the desk team with check-ins and questions. A great role if you like connecting with people. Newbies welcome!

TOUR GUIDES

Lead newcomers on a quick orientation of the venue while sharing Shrine’s culture. To guide, you must be a veteran volunteer or have attended Shrine at least 3 times to do tours, simply because it can be difficult to give tours of a place you have not fully experienced.

RUNNERS

Greet guests as they arrive and point them in the right direction. A simple way to get involved and meet people. No experience needed — newbies welcome!

EVENT SET UP & TAKE DOWN

Help set up or break down the space by moving furniture, arranging stations, and hanging decor. Requires some lifting. Setup starts 2 hours before; teardown begins 30 minutes before closing

DUNGEON MONITORS

Ensure safety in the dungeon. Requirements: current CPR certification, DM training (or equivalent), and 1 hour of shadowing at Shrine. Contact the Volunteer Director to complete shadow hours.

Are there any benefits for volunteering?

Yes! You get $5 off your ticket for donating 1-2 hours and donating 3 hours gets you in for free! Plus, it’s a great way to get to know people in the scene and most importantly you will be giving back to the community at large!

What requirements are necessary to volunteer?

Most volunteer positions do not have requirements with the exception of DMs! Volunteers are asked to be there 15 minutes before their shift.

What requirements are necessary to DM?

To DM, you must be CPR/AED & DM certified, and have completed 1 hour of shadowing another DM at Shrine. Email ATXVolunteers@shrineparties.com to schedule your shadow hours if needed!

How do I get DM certified?

You can take the DM certification course with AMP/AsMP or reach out to the Volunteer Director to sign up for the next DM class!

What time do I have to be there for setup?

Setup starts roughly 2 hours before the start of the event the day of Shrine, thus volunteering for setup already starts you off at 2 hours of volunteering.

When does take down start?

Take down usually starts around 30 minutes before close, if all play in that area has stopped. If play has not stopped, take down begins whenever Shrine is set to close. Take down counts for 1 hour of volunteering.

How do I know what slots are available?

Event Setup, Take Down, Runners, Tour Guides, and DM slots all need to be filled on an hourly basis throughout the night. Please email the Volunteer Director for availability.
