++++++++
This class is for the community members who have found a calling. Those of you who have decided that DMing is at least one of the ways you will stand up and serve your community and actively participate in helping our spaces run as smoothly and as safely as possible.
This is for those of you who want to expand your knowledge and to step things up a bit. Maybe even take it to 11…
It’s time to move past the generalities of the first DM class and do a more in depth look at our dungeons. We will talk about dungeon layout (including lighting, spacing and play specific areas). We will also discuss the way people set up for scenes and what that tells you. We will also make sure you have a more thorough knowledge of the safety equipment the players should have available.
We will also be looking at scenes that have gone wrong in various types of scenes and play spaces. We will discuss the importance of after-action reports as a tool to help us become better DMs
Homework upon acceptance to class:
Write up any questions you may have
Write up a report on one or more scenes you witnessed where a DM had to get involved and what happened
Bring it to class to discuss.
If you don’t want to bring it to class to discuss, send it in to atxvolunteers@shrineparties.com so we can discuss it anonymously
Please avoid using names in your write-ups.
The class will take from 5-6 hours (depending on class participation).
